Cindy Salo writes from rural areas of Idaho and Arizona. She covers natural resources, agriculture, and science. Her work has appeared in Edible Idaho and Intermountain Farm and Ranch. In her other life as a plant ecologist, Cindy has conducted research in the Sonoran and Great Basin Deserts of North America and Senegal, West Africa. She is one of a group of friends who have cared for land in Arizona’s San Pedro River Valley for almost 30 years.
