John Wilson grew up in Scotland, nursed on his parents’ tales of imperial India. His interest in history took him so far back in time that he worked as a geologist in Zimbabwe and Alberta, before moving to Vancouver Island and writing full time. His 40-plus books have won or been shortlisted for numerous awards, including a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award for The Alchemist’s Dream.
