Kelly Fretwell works on science communication for the Hakai Institute. Her love of biodiversity and coastal ecology comes in part from growing up exploring shorelines and forests near her home on the south coast of British Columbia, as well as from her academic background in biology, environmental studies, and marine management. When not working to connect people with nature, Kelly escapes to the outdoors to hike, camp, and explore, preferably with a dog.
