Mark Leiren-Young’s book on Moby Doll, The Killer Whale that Changed the World, is being published in fall 2016 by Greystone Books in partnership with the David Suzuki Foundation. His feature documentary about Moby and a short documentary about one of Moby’s relatives, Granny, The Hundred Year Old Whale, are in post-production. In 2014, Leiren-Young won a Jack Webster Award for his radio documentary about Moby for CBC’s Ideas. In 2009, he received the Stephen Leacock Medal for Humour for his memoir, Never Shoot a Stampede Queen. Photo by Tav Rayne
