Steven Ashley is a freelance science/technology writer and editor who lives in New York City. His work has appeared in Scientific American, the New York Times, the BBC, SAE Automotive Engineering, and Popular Science, among many others. He edited much of the James Beard award-winning cookbook Modernist Cuisine: The Art and Science of Cooking. He grew up on the Jersey Shore.
